ConAct works nationwide as a service center for youth contacts between Germany and Israel and supports youth exchanges between Germany and Israel in terms of concept and organization.
Officially opened in October 2001, the coordination center supports around 300 extracurricular education and exchange projects every year. On behalf of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, ConAct manages the funding for German-Israeli youth exchange and implements projects to establish a German-Israeli Youth Office. ConAct is an institution of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth in cooperation with the states of Saxony-Anhalt and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The coordination center works under the auspices of the Protestant Academy of Saxony-Anhalt and has its office in the Old Town Hall on the market square at the invitation of the city of Wittenberg. The partner organization in Israel is the Israel Youth Exchange Authority, which works with the support of the Israeli Ministry of Education and the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and cultivates Israel's international youth relations with numerous countries.
